What do you know about the distribution of Video content over Mobile Devices?

We’re chairing part of the interaction to uncover everyone’s thoughts this Thursday (27/03/08) at the Watershed 7PM. It promises to be an interesting night and we’ll be utilising some of our Bluetooth technologies so we’d love you to come. As always, there’ll be drinks in the bar afterwards!

Pervasive Fatigue

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

The ideas for Happy Packages could be great or they may stink, but hell it’s a research project and that’s what Thought Pie are meant to be finding out. Either way, no matter how good the implementation and delivery, something we’ll have to be wary of is Pervasive Fatigue.

The Situation

People who are constantly bombarded with repeated Bluetooth requests every time they walk past Co-op’s Bluetooth gopping device are slowly or possibly very quickly going to get annoyed with the vibration in the pocket requiring their attention. It’s just bad etiquette to interrupt someone with something un-expected and then probably ask them again the next day. “Gopping” people from anywhere

“Guerrilla Object Pushing” is pushing Bluetooth Objects to passers by in areas where they normally wouldn’t expect it.

It takes it’s name from Guerrilla marketing and is already being used in cinemas and shopping centres. Its leveraging the use of people’s mobile devices to allow them access to content, links or more details about an event.

This technique is obviously already being used, but we thought it required a name because during the Happy Packages project we intend to be ‘gopping’ people from anywhere and everywhere. In-fact we’ve sure we’ve devised a new method of content delivery an intend to make it pretty successful.
