Thought Den Smash Nashville!

Having worked with Kerve Creative on the Jack Daniel’s account for over 2 years now, I was lucky enough to be invited to Nashville by Dom and Dave for Mr Jack’s legendary Birthday JDSet – a no holds barred party on BBQ hill above the famous Moore County distillery. But of course Nashville is famous for a lot more than just Mr Jack.

Hilton Downtown

It is seriously one of the most fun American cities I’ve ever visited – non stop live music, massive thick milk shakes, juicy, tender steaks the size of Stetson hats and Stetson hats the size of space shuttles. Brown-Forman, owners of Jack and Soco among many others, bought out a few floors of the Hilton Downtown and put on a weekend long party worthy of the hardiest revellers, culminating in the JDSet gig, a collaboration between the New Silver Cornet Band, Tim Wheeler of Ash, Roisin Murphy of Moloko and Tom Oxley of the Young Knives. JD was free flowing, along with ‘pulled’ pork, english charm and monstrous hangovers. For exclusive videos, images and tracks visit The JD Set

Overlooking the distollery

Some of the trip highlights include blagging our way to the top of the enormous ‘Batman’ building by hanging around reception and befriending a random AT&T employee. The Whiskey tasting was interesting, not least because of the ongoing battle against the previous nights hangover. They distillery tour, led by the larger-than-life David, a bearded, dungareed, porch-rockin’ thigh-slappin’ character beyond even the most active of imaginations. Boogying at Tootsies with 60 yr old blues thoroughbreds, 6 foot silicon implants and our merry bunch of international media tarts. Roll on next year =)
